It’s finally time to pull out the Christmas stuff!! I don’t know about you, but I’ve been humming “Oh Chstimas tree” since November 1st and I am SO ready to get in the holiday spirit- preschool activities included 😉 I’ve been really interested in using gift tags in Christmas preschool activities, lately. Yesterday I shared how we made a DIY Memory Game using them, and today we have this simple puzzle! I love that this is something you can quickly set up while doing some gift wrapping or holiday baking.
Supplies
- Gift tags
- Paper (Astrobright paper is my favorite to craft with)
- Pen
I started by tracing the gift tags on a piece of paper and that was it. My kids were ready to play! (who doesn’t love INSTANT kids’ activities?!? This one is one of the simplest there is!)
The puzzle is simple and entertaining for toddlers and preschoolers. You can always get some of these custom Photo Puzzles from any online site or try out your DIY skills. My kids worked on this puzzle while I did the dishes. I stayed engaged with them by asking questions like “Can you find all the green pieces first?” or “Find the piece that looks like a Christmas candy”.
I also like to leave a box of crayons within close reach because this can easily be turned into a coloring sheet when puzzle time is over! (See how this animal puzzle became a coloring sheet for all year round fun!)
Ways to extend the activity: Have kids cut out the shapes to make more gift tags! See how it’s done here at Mom Inspired life

Like this idea? Don’t forget to share and pin it, please 🙂
So much fun! The shape possibilities are endless… I am off to trace my stapler. 🙂
