“Villains have invaded the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden in Claremont and are currently planning world domination!”
What ever is the world to do?!? Send out our heroes, of course!!
What kid doesn’t love dawning a cape and a squirt gone to save the world? The Jr. Hero Run was the perfect chance for my kids (and us) to reveal our secret hero identities and protect the world from villains!
The Run was an easy distance for my mini-heroes (about a 4k). And it was a hot day, so when a villain (or rogue hero) caught us off guard, the ensuing water gun battle kept us cool until we encountered the next.
“As a Junior Hero, your goal will be to find a fortress and recover a coin… Armed with courage and a water gun of your own, you will overcome great odds in an epic struggle to prevent villains from overtaking the Botanic Garden.”
During our race, we stumbled upon a heavily guarded fortress where there were hoards of coins waiting to be recovered by our heroes!
Some villains were less intimidating than others…
In the end, the heroes prevailed and were rewarded for their bravery with gold medals!
We can’t wait for the next time our services as superheroes are going to be called on again! If you are interested in finding out more about the next Jr Hero Run, please visit the Jr Hero Run’s facebook page or website.
Besides the run, there were SO MANY other activities to participate in! Multiple bounce houses, jousting, delicious food, etc. This event will definitely become a yearly tradition for our family 🙂 We also love that proceeds go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, so every participant is a true hero!
Disclaimer: In exchange for writing about my experience in the Jr Hero Run, my family and I received complimentary tickets for this event. However, all opinions are my own.
