I have a ton of fun when I get to craft and do art projects with my niece! She’s a preteen now, and making things that she can share with friends is always a winning activity with her, so when I went to visit her the other day I made sure to bring enough craft supplies that she and a friend could make this fun DIY Tic-Tac-Toe game!
Supplies:
- Paint
- Paint brush
- Command™ clear small hooks
- Scotch® Magic™ Tape
- 2 inch circle punch
- Paper
We were able to find the Scotch® Brand and Command™ products in the crafting aisle of Wal-Mart, which was perfect since that’s where I usually am anyways gathering new craft supplies!
We started by using the paper punch to cut 10 circles from our paper. Thick cardstock paper works best for this activity, as thin printer paper will not be sturdy enough for game play. These circles will become our tic-tac-toe game pieces.
Next we used the Scotch® Magic™ Tape to make X’s on half of the circles. It’s important to use this exact tape, as it won’t rip the paper when it needs to be removed later!
Then we painted! We used warm red, yellow, and orange colors for half the circles, and cool colors for the other half. When the paint dried, we peeled off the tape to reveal the X beneath it, just like magic!
Once all the pieces were dry we punched a hole at the top of the circle so they could be hung on the game board. The game board was actually made with 9 Command™ clear small hooks! We stuck them on the wall in a 3×3 grid and got ready to play a game! (note: the hooks remove cleanly and won’t leave any damage to the wall! We love that this is a temporary way to play and decorate the walls!)
Have you used Command™ or Scotch® Brand products in a new and unique way? We’ve been getting all sorts of ideas from the #projectamazing site! Which idea is your favorite?
Do your kids love tinkering and creating? This Tinker Crate would be a great gift for them!
