After receiving the Nuby iMonster bowl and Snack Keeper for review purposes, my boys have really been interested in reading and doing silly monster activities! Our last activity (Monster Art And Math) was inspired by the book Monster Math. This activity is, once again, inspired by the same book and the same line of Nuby iMonster items!

I prepped this activity by placing some of the monster stickers on the stones and taping out a simple house with green washi tape on the table. I used foam number puzzle pieces to place in each “room” of the house. If you have read the Monster Math book, you’ll see how the monster guests go from room to room during their party shenanigans, so this set up is a great way to expand on the book 🙂

I put each stone in the iMonster Snack Keeper and introduced the scene to my oldest son, Cannon. Cannon is used to pulling snacks out of the snack keeper, so it was a funny surprise to see little monster rocks coming out of it!

We talked about the monsters and how they were having a birthday party in our little tape house. But there were rules: only a few monsters could fit into each room! As Cannon pulled each stone monster out of the snack keeper, he decided which room they should go in and we counted out the correct number of monsters together. I’ll admit that I have a tough time making math interesting, but this activity made math fun for everyone! There was pretend play, counting, and patterning all happening in one simple activity.

Nuby Snack Keeper Review and Giveaway

The iMonster snack keeper was sent to us from Nuby for review purposes. We have enjoyed not only using it for snacks, but in themed activities like this one as well! It’s great for self-feeders and a perfect companion to take along car trips and other outings. The lid snaps on securely (neither of my boys can remove the lid on their own) so snacks stay inside the container while on the go 🙂 The mouth portion is made of soft silicone. Food in the snack keeper is very secure until little hands are ready to take it out. The snack keeper can be purchased on Amazon.com here.
