There are a few things that absolutely define childhood for me- PLAY-DOH modeling compound is one of them. It brings me back to summer days molding my own pretend scenes on the dining room table alongside my sisters. Even as an adult, I can’t help but to sit and create with my boys every time we pull out some PLAY-DOH modeling compound. That’s one of the reasons I was thrilled to write this post as a celebration of PLAY-DOH brand’s 60th anniversary– I want to celebrate the timeless tradition of modeling PLAY-DOH creations together with my kids! I want my kids to create the same memories I did when I was growing up- and I love that PLAY-DOH modeling compound will be a part of that.
This week we had the chance to test out some new PLAY-DOH Town Playsets (firehouse, ice cream truck, and pet store.)Â My kids couldn’t wait to get started! After a little bit of assembly on my part, we had a perfect little town complete with a fire station, ice cream truck, and pet store all for my kids to pretend and explore!
We also had several figurines to complete our pretend play scenes. One thing I loved about these playsets was all the little surprise molds built right into them! Even the figurine’s feet contained molds to accessorize the characters!
The cast of our playtime…
…and their feet!
My four year old was particularly attracted to the firehouse playset. He had a blast narrating fire rescue stories and acting them with his PLAY-DOH figurines.”Shooting” water from the hose was definitely the climax of this pretend play scene! (and check out how cool those PLAY-DOH cans are- they have pretend windows on them so they can be part of the play scenes as well!)
My three year old, on the other hand, wanted to make pretend ice cream cones all day long! (I’ll take a strawberry-swirl, please 🙂 )
How would your kid enjoy the new PLAY-DOH Town Playsets? Check the HASBRO online store and pick some up today to celebrate World PLAY-DOH Day on September 16th!
I always loved Play-Doh as a kid. Until someone mixed the colors and then I had to unfriend people. 🙂
Hahaha! I used to be the same way, but I’ve given up on that now 😉
